The spiritual journey of Holiday Route, led by I Made Joy, not only circles Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand but has also expanded to Japan. Leading Rubi, Dede, Shor, Made Richi, Sanggoe, and more to "Sending and Feeling Subtle Energy Patterns". By doing a cheap talk on WhatsApp, we unearth some Energy Patterns from Rubi, Dede, and Shor as religious street skaters.

Where did the idea of titling the video “Sending and Feeling Subtle Energy Patterns” come from? Does it have some religious reason behind that?

Joy: Awalnya itu kita pikir judulnya “Spirtual Journey”, then kita kirim semua direction ke Ryan art director kita. Lalu ryan comes up dengan kata kata itu, so aku rasa itu lebih mewakili perjalanan video skate ini dan tujuan dari setiap skate video kan. Jadi ya pakai itu aja deh.

Did you plan to jump into the water after landing the boardslide, or did it just click into your mind right away after the landing?

Dede: Honestly, I didn't plan to jump into the water, actually. It just came up on my mind after I landed the boardslide, and I didn't even know that the lake is super shallow, and Joy was laughing so hard on the cam.

Compared to your last video, what are you trying to show in this latest video?

Joy: Just skating with your best friends, enjoying it. Ga harus happy terus, tapi lebih menikmati setiap detik bersama, travel, skateboarding dan kesamaan untuk hal-hal yang menarik buat kita.

You’ve been traveling to many places, which means you’ve tried a wide variety of foods. Are you a picky-eater type of guy?

Dede: No, I'm not a picky-eater type of guy, but I had the best food in Mie with all my lovely friends! Shout out to Shine Hikaru for showing us love in Mie! Hikkoshiteee!!

Referring to your last name, we thought you were Australian; are you mixed?

Shor: I am mixed with Japanese and English.

In the first footage, Rubi and you did back to back, would you tell us the vibes of it?

Shor: Rubi and I were trying the spot, and I needed so much speed to approach the bank, tried pushing full send, and after 30 minutes, my legs were almost done. Then this random kid on his bicycle with his board appeared and started watching us skate. After a few minutes, Dede went to him and asked the kid if we could borrow his bike so he could pull me. I got the good energy from Dede, Rubi, Joy, and everyone was there at the spot, so I just sent it! And I kinda knew Rubi was going to land it back-to-back, which he actually did. That moment was the best.

Any favourite meals to celebrate a successful spot sesh?

Rubi: Nasi campur, Sashimi on the boat! Jaktujak Malaysia!

Your part’s ender was insane. Did you find the idea for the ender yourself, or did Joy choose it for you?

Rubi: It started from we been skating around this KLCC spot a lot and the idea just come together with the boys

You did the backsmith on Absar's ender in the Selamat video part. How big was that gap to rail?

Rubi: The gap to rail size was just perfect, I feel for my backsmith! Shoutout to the Preduce boys bringing us on the road trip around Thailand!!

Any tricks and tips before hitting a rail?

Rubi: Sennnnndddd ittttt!!!!

Who has the wildest idea of visualising a trick at a skate spot?

Joy: Everybody sih, hahaha.

This video must’ve taken so much time to film; how long did it take to finish all the processes?

Joy: Mungkin 1.5 tahun kalau ga salah.

Were there any things that happened not according to your plan?

Joy: Too many to say lol just go, get lost, get out skating eith your best people, and something will work out :)

Have you ever thought about getting worse slam while wearing short pants?

Dede: I feel like I'm more comfortable when I'm skating shorts, but it doesn’t mean I don't like skating pants, it just depends on the shape. I had that feeling sometimes, but I don't want that to happen to me, and hopefully not!

Would you try bombing hill with small size wheels?

Dede: Yeah, I'm down to try one day for sure!

I heard you ride regular stance while surfing, but goofy stance on skating; why so? Has surfing helped you skate more easily on transitions and bombing hills?

Dede: Yes, that's right! My dad told me to switch my surf stance from goofy to regular, because he said backhand is more satisfying, haha. And for me, it's completely different because I surf regular and skate goofy.

We've seen you cycling around with the whole crew; have you found something new from it?

Dede: It's always been good if you are surrounded by your homies. Then what I found, bicycles are expensive dudeee haha.

Have you ever said no when Joy or others choosing a spot for you?

Shor: It all comes naturally when I go on a trip with the boyz.

Japan has chilling weather compared to Malaysia or Thailand that hot as hell, did it really bother you?

Shor: The weather changes every month in Japan, so coming to those two countries from wintertime, it’s going to feel super hot. But actually, summertime in Japan is even hotter than Malaysia or Thailand hahaha

What was your favourite skate spot in your video part?

Shor: The drop in tail slide from the bridge in Jembatan Pelabuhan Singaraja. I heard it’s been there from the 18th century, I’m so glad I could skate it, such a rad and historical spot.

Joy: Yep, satisfied karena bisa beresin video nya, karena cukup lumayan lama kan bikinnya so bisa beres itu ngerasa seneng yaa.

You guys have successfully arranged video premieres in several places. Would you describe a little about people's reactions, and which country has the best vibe?

Joy: Yeah, orang orang enthusiast nya bagus ya. Terutama di Bali, Jakarta dan Tokyo. Semuanya best, begitulah seharusnya kita merayakan skateboarding.

Any words for everyone?

Joy: wordsss… just go skate with your best friends as much as you can.

Are you satisfied with how the video turned out?

Dede: For me, the premiere in Japan was unreal! Their enthusiasm is insane, even half of them came like 2 hours before the premiere! But Bali premiere is also went off!

Dede: Ummm, it might be frontside nose slide 270 in Osaka! Because my brotha Shor & Rubi also got a really sick back-to-back at the same spots! Also, backside noseblunt on the bank because that spot is so rough, and when we went there, it was super wet & slippery.

Dede: Stay healthy and get enough sleep! Haha.

Dede: We were super stoked! Thank you to everyone who came to the premiere & watched the video on the site, you all the best!
