In less than seven minutes, Phoget showcases some local talented skaters in Singapore, embracing them in what Kenny calls Phoget. To know about what Phoget is, we ask the boss himself, Kenny, in this little and quick interview.

Where did the idea of starting a clothing company come from? What is Phoget?

PHOGET was born in 2017, back when I was still in secondary school, learning art and figuring things out. The name came from two things that defined me: my love for Vietnamese pho and my habit of forgetting things. So I mashed them together and made something I wouldn’t forget. Over time, PHOGET became more than a name. It became a reflection of my creative journey and the culture around me. It’s for people who move with style, make their own rules, and stay true to their roots. There are I (Kenny), Arwah Syahied, Nur Afiq, Danniel, Basral, Hambali, Safie, and many more of my Singapore homies.

Have one of you guys ever dealt with an apparel vendor before? Where did you locate a supplier who could meet your needs?

We reach out to some production in Indonesia. They did great work for us, and there are pros and cons to doing business with them. Pros when it comes to quality, it’s always been great, but the con is that the waiting time is a bit longer than they promised, but all good!

How many local clothing brands in Singapore? And how's the scene these days?

There are plenty of brands doing it now, and the streetwear scene is growing, and what Phoget is focusing on is the skate scene/community, and in hopes of exposing more local talents.

How are you going to develope the identity of the brand?

What do people in the Singapore community react when you initiate Phoget for the very first time?

They were hyped on it and trusted me with the vision. I had my reasons for having them in the video, and I want to showcase talent from Singapore and give love back to the homies. Grateful for all the time and effort they put in. Much love always.

Is the latest Phoget Mixtape video considered as a promo video?

Technically, yes, it’s a promo video. It’s an introduction of the brand to the community in Singapore and also our neighbouring countries.

The identity of Phoget is just a reminder. A reminder to not “Phoget”. Just like our tagline, ”just don’t Phoget to wash”.

Any challenging things you have encountered on doing this business?

The biggest challenge I faced was losing my best friend, Syahied, who co-founded PHOGET with me. After he passed, I felt lost for a while and we had so many plans together and it was tough adjusting without him. But I’ve kept pushing forward, and on the business side, things have been going well and I’m gonna thank my ex-fiancée for helping me through the tough times.
